Sensex ends up 200pts

The BSE Sensex ended (provisional) at 15,374, up 200 points. The NSE Nifty ended (provisional) at 4,570, up 57 points.

The Sensex after  exhibiting sideways movement for a while, touched a high of 15,381.The index is now at 15,373, up 200 points

The BSE IT index continue to gain and is up 2.52 per cent due to sustained buying in the IT stocks.

TCS has surged 6.5% to Rs 531. Wipro has soared 5.5% to Rs 493 and Tech Mahindra has gained 4.5% to Rs 846.

HUL has advanced nearly 6% to Rs 284. SBI has gained 4% to Rs 1,723, on 42% increase in net today.

Tata Steel has increased 2.5% to Rs 453. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have added over 2% each to Rs 1,447 and Rs 747, respectively.

NTPC, Reliance Infrastructure, Sterlite, ACC and Grasim are up 1-1.5% each.

The NSE Nifty is now at 4,567, up 54 points. Among the other major gainers are SAIL, Ambuja Cement, HCL Technologies that have soared 4.5-5% each.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,730 stocks, 1,474 have advanced and 1,170 have declined.
