Sensex extends gains, up over 100pts

The Sensex is at 15,278, up 104 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,540, up 26 points.

The Sensex has rebounded and touched a high of 15,283, up 110 points from previous close.

The Sensex is now at 15,260, up 87 points.

Among the sectoral indices, IT index continues to gain and is up 1.92% now. TCS has surged nearly 4% to Rs 519. Wipro has advanced 2.5% to Rs 478. Infosys has added 1.5% to Rs 2,015.

HDFC and HUL have gained nearly 3% each to Rs 2,430 and Rs 275, respectively.

DLF and HDFC Bank have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 404 and Rs 1,437, respectively.

Sun Pharma has plunged 5.5% to Rs 1,125.

Hindalco and Tata Steel have declined over 1% each.

The NSE Nifty is now at 4,539, up 25 points.

Among the other major gainers are Tata Communications that have soared 3.5%. BPCL and Ambuja Cement have added 2.5% each.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,403 stocks, 1,321 have advanced and 1,002 have declined.
