Tata Power has slumped over 7% to Rs 714. Sterlite and HDFC have plunged 6.5% each to Rs 241 and Rs 1,389, respectively.
ICICI Bank has tumbled over 6% to Rs 373. Grasim has dropped over 5% to Rs 1,151.
Ranbaxy has slippped 4.7% to Rs 204, and DLF has declined 4% to Rs 182.
Hindustan Unilever has surged 4% to Rs 256, and ITC has gained 1% at Rs 172.
The market breadth is now fairly negative - out of 2,398 stocks traded so far, 1,481 have declined, 819 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
