Sensex firm, up over 100pts

The Sensex is now at 15,283, up 110 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,539, up 25 points.

 The Sensex has now erased some of its gains and is now at 15,252, up 78 points. Earlier the Sensex touched a high of 15,315.

The BSE IT index has added 2% at 3,866.

TCS and Hindustan Unilever have advanced over 3% each to Rs 516 and Rs 276, respectively.

HDFC and SBI have added over 2.5% each to Rs 2,431 and Rs 1,699, respectively.

Wipro, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, DLF and NTPC have increased over 1.5% ech.

Sun Pharma has tumbled 5.5% to Rs 1,123 and BHEL is down 1.5% at Rs 2,204.

The market breadth is fairly positive, out of 2,549 shares traded, 1,414 shares have advanced and 1,039 have declined so far on the BSE.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,528, up 15 points.

Punjab National Bank has slipped 6% to Rs 702. SAIL is at Rs 175, down 4% .
