Satyam has zoomed 7.8% to Rs 320, and Jaiprakash Associates has soared 7% to Rs 119.
HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have rallied around 4% each to Rs 1,281 and Rs 556, respectively.
Grasim and Infosys have surged 3.7% each to Rs 1,750 and Rs 1,449, respectively.
Tata Steel has moved up 2.7% to Rs 437. Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC, Tata Power and ACC have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 522, Rs 2,193, Rs 928 and Rs 626, respectively.
