The Sensex continues to show weakness and is now down 219 points at 16,063. The Nifty is down 67 points at 4,759.
The BSE realty index has slumped nearly 5% to 3,885. Other big losers among the indices are the BSE metal, auto and bankex.
DLF has shed 5% to Rs 383. Reliance Communications and Tata Motors have declined around 4.5% each to Rs 194 and Rs 539, respectively.
Tata Steel, BHEL and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped over 3% each to Rs 467, Rs 2,246 and Rs 213, respectively.
Sterlite, Maruti, ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra are down over 2% each.
Sun Pharma and Hindustan Unilever on the other hand are up around 2% each at Rs 1,405 and Rs 283, respectively.
The market breadth is extremely negative, out of 2,551 shares traded, 1,834 have declined and 657 have advanced so far on the BSE.
