The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of 9,282, and is now down 220 points at 9,425.
Wipro has slumped 5.5% to Rs 236. TCS and Tata Motors have plunged 4.8% each to Rs 483 and Rs 153, respectively.
Sterlite has tumbled 4.5% to Rs 282. Tata Steel and Infosys have slipped 3.7% each to Rs 210 and Rs 1,095, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 3.3% each to Rs 718 and Rs 80, respectively.
Tata Power, however, has advanced over 1% to Rs 740.
The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,141 stocks traded so far, 1,061 have advanced, 1,011 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
