Sensex off lows in in early trades

The Sensex opened 125 points lower at 9,111, and is now down 73 points at 9,164.

Sun Pharma has slumped over 5% to Rs 1,084. BHEL has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,298.

Tata Power has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 738. Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates, DLF and Sterlite have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 147, Rs 68, Rs 161 and Rs 261, respectively.

NTPC has shed over 2% at Rs 186. Mahindra & Mahindra, TCS, Reliance Communications, HDFC and Maruti are the other major losers.

Grasim, however, has advanced over 1% to Rs 1,194.
