Sensex slips 142pts on fresh weakness

The Sensex has slipped back into the negative zone and is now down 142 points at 14,975.

The NSE Nifty is down 32 points at 4,491.

Tata Motors has tumbled 2.8% to Rs 432. ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 1.8% each at Rs 696 and Rs 566, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel have dropped 1.5% each to Rs 1,234 and Rs 838, respectively.

Grasim and Infosys have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 2,061 and Rs 1,699, respectively.

Maruti, BHEL, TCS and Satyam are down around 1% each to Rs 661, Rs 1,755, Rs 843 and Rs 413, respectively.

ONGC has soared over 3% to Rs 1,056.

Sterlite and Tata Steel have gained 1% each at Rs 621 and Rs 650, respectively.
