Sensex slips over 300pts; Sterlite, Rel Infra, ICICI shed 8%

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 329 points at 10,252.

Sterlite has slumped 8.5% to Rs 273, and Reliance Infrastructure has plunged 8% to Rs 513.

ICICI Bank has tumbled 7.7% to Rs 383. Jaiprakash Associates has tanked 6.6% at Rs 70.

Maruti and NTPC have dropped 6% each to Rs 638 and Rs 156, respectively.

BHEL, Bharti Airtel and DLF have slipped over 5% each to Rs 1,243, Rs 693 and Rs 308, respectively.

Grasim has shed 4.7% at Rs 1,308. Reliance Communications has declined 4.5% to Rs 248..

Tata Power and SBI are down 3.5% each at Rs 772 and Rs 1,490, respectively.

Satyam, however, is up over 1% at Rs 276.

Out of 2,495 stocks traded so far, 1,477 have declined, 966 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
