Sensex steady at higher levels; HDFC up 7%

The NSE Nifty is up 158 points at 4,398.

Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL and ICICI Bank have zoomed around 9% each to Rs 1,000, Rs 1,742 and Rs 722, respectively.

DLF, HDFC Bank and Reliance Communications have soared around 8% each to Rs 492, Rs 1,190 and Rs 505, respectively.

HDFC has rallied over 7% to Rs 2,300. SBI has gained over 6% at Rs 1,485.

Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 4.7% each to Rs 432 and Rs 2,692, respectively.

NTPC has advanced 4% to Rs 192. Jaiprakash Associates, Grasim and Tata Steel have added 3% each to Rs 164, Rs 1,816 and Rs 643, respectively.
