The Sensex opened 91 points higher at 8,913, and is now up 142 points at 8,964.
Tata Motors has soared 4.7% to Rs 138. Reliance Infrastructure and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 4.5% each to Rs 511 and Rs 308, respectively.
Hindalco has moved up nearly 4% to Rs 41. Tata Steel has added 3% to Rs 165.
TCS has gained 2.7% at Rs 479. Maruti, ICICI Bank, Infosys, ONGC and Jaiprakash Associates are up 2.3% each.
