Sensex up 258pts; TCS, ICICI Bank zoom 7.5%

The Sensex is now up 258 points at 12,854. The NSE Nifty is up 69 points at 3,919.
TCS and ICICI Bank have zoomed 7.5% each to Rs 666 and Rs 530. respectively.
BHEL has gained 5.8% to Rs 1,598, and Bharti Airtel has surged 5.4% at Rs 787.
Satyam and Maruti have advanced 5.2% each to Rs 308 and Rs 697, respectively.
HDFC and SBI are up around 5% each to Rs 2,137 and Rs 1,475, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has gained 4.7% to Rs 112. Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Communications have moved up over 4% each at Rs 2,440 and Rs 339, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra, DLF, NTPC and HDFC Bank are the other major gainer today.
On the other side, Tata Motors has tumbled 3.2% to Rs 355, while Tata Steel has declined around 2.8% to Rs 433.
Grasim is down 2.6% to Rs 1,687. Hindustan Unilever has lost 2.3% to Rs 249.
Tata Power and ITC are down over 1% each at Rs 906 and Rs 188, respectively.
The market breadth is negative - out of 2,568 stocks traded so far, 1,399 have declined, 1,089 have advanced and 80 are unchanged.
