The Sensex is now up 349 points at 8,692.
DLF has zoomed 10.7% to Rs 151. Sterlite has soared 9.5% to Rs 287, and Tata Motors has rallied nearly 9% to Rs 159.
ICICI Bank and Tata Power have surged around 8% each to Rs 307 and Rs 655, respectively.
Tata Steel has gained 6.7% at Rs 166. TCS, HDFC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied around 6% each to Rs 505, Rs 1,362 and Rs 611, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance and Reliance Communications are up nearly 6% each at Rs 468, Rs 1,271 and Rs 146, respectively.
NTPC, however, has shed 1.7% at Rs 171.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,473 stocks traded so far, 1,544 have advanced, 836 have declined and 93 are unchanged.
