Sensex up 400pts; Realty, IT lead rally

The Sensex touched a high of 15,116, up 450 points from the previous day's close. The index is now at 15070, up 400 points.

The BSE Realty and IT indices are up 4% each at 3,752 and 3,187, respectively.

DLF has zoomed 8.5% to Rs 397. Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have added over 7% each to Rs 286 and Rs 332, respectively.

Tata Power has soared 6.5% to Rs 1,150.

Wipro, TCS and Tata Steel have moved up 5.5% each at Rs 429, Rs 779 and Rs 439, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro have advanced 5% to Rs 1,553.

Hindalco, Mahindra & Mahindra, SBI, Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance, Infosys and ITC are up 3-5% each.

Grasim and Tata Motors are down 1% each at Rs 2,352 and Rs 360, respectively.

The market breadth remains negative, out of 2,730 shares traded, 1,172 have advanced and 1,508 have declined so far on the BSE.
