Sensex up 61pts; Sterlite adds 3%

The Sensex today opened 70 points higher at 13,983. The index slipped to a low of 13,914. The index is now 61 points higher at 13,974.

Sterlite had advanced 3% to Rs 554.

DLF and Jaiprakash Associates have added 2% each at Rs 359 and Rs 189, respectively.

HDFC, Wipro, Infosys and Bhel are up over 1.5% each at Rs 2,125, Rs 373, Rs 1,531 and Rs 2,030, respectively.

Hindalco and Tata Steel have gained 1% each at Rs 78 and Rs 372, respectively.

ONGC on the other hand is down over 2% at Rs 1,016.
