Sensex up 77pts; breadth extremely +ve

The Sensex is now up 77 points at 10,881.

Tata Steel has soared over 8% to Rs 282, and Tata Motors too has surged 7.7% to Rs 242.

HDFC Bank and Sterlite have rallied around 5.5% each to Rs 1,103 and Rs 417, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and SBI have moved up 4.7% each to Rs 416, Rs 455 and Rs 1,193, respectively.

Hindalco has gained 2.5% at Rs 60. Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure, Maruti, Sun Pharma and DLF are the other major gainers.

Wipro has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 264, and TCS has tumbled 3% to Rs 585.

Infosys has shed 2% at Rs 1,397. NTPC has dropped 1.7% to Rs 191.

HDFC has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,678. Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel are down over 1% each at Rs 230 and Rs 660, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,412 stocks traded so far, 1,823 have advanced, 521 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
