The Sensex opened 68 points lower at 9,042, and soon touched a low of 9,035. The index, thereafter, rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 9,261. The Sensex is now up 124 points at 9,234.
Infosys has surged over 4% to Rs 1,207. Reliance and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied over 3% each to Rs 1,136 and Rs 495, respectively.
DLF, Jaiprakash Associates and Sterlite have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 211, Rs 71 and Rs 266, respectively.
Ranbaxy, Reliance Communications, ITC, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Power have advanced around 2% each to Rs 212, Rs 184, Rs 168, Rs 710 and Rs 742, respectively.
On the other hand, Grasim and Hindustan Unilever have shed 2.3% each at Rs 1,328 and Rs 257, respectively.
Tata Motors has slipped 2% to Rs 159. Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Steel are down over 1% each.
