Silver down 0.2% on weak global trend

Metal for delivery in May declined by 0.11%

Silver prices declined 0.20% to Rs 44,391 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions on weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March fell by Rs 89, or 0.20%, to Rs 44,391 per kg in business turnover of 2,026 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 51, or 0.11%, to Rs 45,405 per kg in 77 lots.

Analysts said speculators trimmed positions on weak global trend which kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver traded lower by 2.24% to USD 19.87 an ounce in New York last night.
