Smart Portfolios: Khattar exits DPSC, Pitti Laminations

The second half of the day was quite eventfull with Shishir Bajpai and  Vinay Khattar getting active in the last half an hour of the market time. However, Ajay Parmar  and  Siddarth Bhamre chose to remain on the sidelines.

To start with, Shishir Bajpai bought 250 shares of National Aluminium Company at Rs 420 each. However, he sold off 100 shares of Reliance Industries (Rs 1,096) and booked a profit of 1.75%. On the other hand, he lost 1.8% on exiting from Punj Lloyd (750 shares)  (Rs 125.65).

Meanwhile, in the last fifteen minutes of the trade an additional 100 shares of Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals priced Rs 302 and 130 shares of Jindal Drilling & Industries at the rate of Rs 570 were bought by Bajpai.

Vinay Khattar of Edelweiss decided to book losses on his investments in DPSC and Pitti Laminations. He incurred a loss of nearly 20% on selling 42 shares of D P S C at Rs 1,906. And, exited from Pitti Laminations for a loss of 9%.

Fund managers are taking mixed positions in trades today. Markets, meanwhile, continue to be directionless. The Sensex is up 49 points at 20,053. Nifty is at 6,028 - up 16 points.

Shishir Bajpai, Senior Vice President, IIFL Private Wealth has invested over Rs 1 lakh in Infosys. He has also bought shares of Orchid Chemicals. Bajpai has sold Central Bank of India and Gujarat Pipavav. He has booked a profit of 9.6% on his investments in Central Bank of India. However, he has booked a marginal loss of 1% on his invesmentments in Gujarat Pipavav.

"I have booked profit in Central Bank post the results and bought Infosys. The stock post the good results has corrected. It has become a good value buy at current levels", says Bajpai.

Ajay Parmar, Head Research Institutional Equities, Emkay has bought 150 shares of Insectides India. On the other hand, he has booked a substantial loss of 19.2% on his investments in TRF.

Vinay Khattar, Head - Research, WAIS, Edelweis and Siddarth Bhamre, Angel Broking, Head - Equity Derivatives are on the sidelines so far.
