Some profit-taking seen; Maruti up 7%

The markets are once again witnessing some profit taking. The Sensex is now up 267 points at 15,228.

The NSE Nifty is up 58 points at 4,561.

Maruti has zoomed 7% to Rs 658. HDFC Bank and Tata Motors have soared 5% each to Rs 1,245 and Rs 430, respectively.

ACC has surged 4.5% to Rs 644. BHEL, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and TCS have rallied around 4% each to Rs 1,846, Rs 722, Rs 873 and Rs 863, respectively.

Hindusan Unilever and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 3.7% each to Rs 249 and Rs 2,798, respectively.

Satyam has advanced 3.3% to Rs 413. Mahindra & Mahindra is up 2.5% at Rs 562.

Tata Power has tumbled over 3% to Rs 1,067. Tata Steel has shed 2.5% at Rs 659.

HDFC has dropped 2% to Rs 2,415, and SBI has slipped 1% to Rs 1,562.

Out of 2,731 stocks traded so far, 1,555 have advanced, 1,093 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
