Sugar declines on sluggish demand

Sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today, due to lower consumer offtake on the back of adequate supply positions.  

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,801/2,861 per quintal from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,811/2,861.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) edged down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 2,851/2,921 as compared to Rs 2,853/2,921 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets: 

Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,851/2,921 (Rs 2,853/ 2,921) and Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,801/2,861 (Rs 2,811/2,861)
