Tata Motors today zoomed over 12% to Rs 797 on the back of robust sales numbers for the month of February. In the process, the stock registered the biggest gain by any Sensex stock in last seven months.
Interestingly, Tata Motors was the same stock that surged more than 10% in a single trading day among the Sensex 30 stocks. It was on September 7, 2009, the stock soared 11%, while the Sensex appreciated by 2% and breached the 16,000 mark, after a gap of 15 months then.
Earlier, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the other Tata group company, had zoomed 15% on July 20, 2009 after the company reported robust financial numbers for the quarter ended June 2009.
