Turmeric futures prices fell by Rs 62 to Rs 7,174 per quintal today on sluggish local and exports demand against adequate stocks position.

Expectations of higher output this season also put pressure on turmeric futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in June fell by Rs 62, or 0.86%, to Rs 7,174 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,860 lots.

The July contract lost Rs 32, or 0.44%, to Rs 7,238 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,930 lots.

Market analysts said sluggish local and exports demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to a fall in turmeric futures prices.
