US markets end flat; Satyam zooms 34%

The Nasdaq rose on Tuesday after a better outlook from Texas Instruments boosted the technology stocks, but on the other hand news that 10 big banks will repay TARP funds was not able to stir investor enthusiasm.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 1.43 points ( 90.02%) to 8,763.06. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 3.29 points ( 0.35%) to 942.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 17.73 points( 0.96%) to 1,860.13.
The Indian ADRs ended on a positive note.
Satyam surged 34% to $3.64. Patni Computers soared 10% to $10.91.
Wipro advanced 5% to $12.81 and Dr Reddy's gained 4% at $14.82.
Infosys was up 3.5% at $37.53 and HDFC Bank added 3% to $102.42.
Tata Communications increased over 2% to $20.20.
ICICI Bank moved 1.5% to $31.77.
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam and Sterlite were up marginally at $4.62 and $13.82, respectively.
Genpact and Tata Motors slipped marginally to $11.09 and $10.42, respectively.
