US markets slip on poor consumer confidence data

The US markets closed in the red on disappointing consumer confidence numbers.
Dow Jones ended at 10282, weaker by 100 points or 0.9%, Nasdaq closed at 2213, lower by 28 points or 1.2% and S&P shut at 1094, down 13 points or 1.2% as the February consumer confidence index in February registered a 10-month low of 46.
The Indian ADRs ended largely in the red. Satyam ended at $5.1, weaker by $0.1 or 2.8%, Tata Communication closed at $12.6, lower by $0.4 or 3.6% and Tata Motors shut at $15.1, down $0.4 or 2.6%.
By way of exceptions, Dr Reddy's ended at $24.2, stronger by $0.3 or 1.3% and Patni Computers ended higher by 0.3% at $21.
