Vegetable Oil Imports Up In May

Import of edible oils registered a rise at 471,570 tonnes in May, 2002, compared to 373,041 tonnes in May, 2001. But the total import of vegetable oils registered a 19 per cent decline for seven months between November, 2001, and May, 2002, at 2145,048 tonnes against 2659,066 tonnes for the same period last year.
