Weakness continues; Reliance sheds 6%

The Sensex continues to exhibit weakness and is now down 399 points at 12,657.

Sterlite and Tata Steel have tumbled nearly 8% each to Rs 396 and Rs 405, respectively.

Tata Power and Reliance have slumped 6% each to Rs 889 and Rs 1,794, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have plunged 5.7% each to Rs 520 and Rs 746, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 4% to Rs 1,397, and Tata Motors has shed 3.7% at Rs 327.

TCS and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 3.5% each to Rs 648 and Rs 1,174, respectively.

Satyam and Reliance Communications have declined 3% each to Rs 309 and Rs 333, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and HDFC are down 2.5% each at Rs 762 and Rs 2,153, respectively. Maruti is down 2% at Rs 684.

Ranbaxy has soared over 7% to Rs 270. Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 1.5% to Rs 514.

Out of 2,475 stocks traded so far, 1,717 have declined, 703 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
