Zinc futures for February went up by 25 paise, or 0.22%, to Rs 115.55 per kg in 1,607 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCx), the March contract also rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 116.30 per kg in 102 lots.

Better domestic demand, as speculators enlarged positions helped the trade to gain.

Signs of economic recovery in US and China raised demand outlook for the base metals that supported zinc futures trade globally.
