Amid pick-up in domestic demand and a firming global trend, zinc prices rose 0.51% to Rs 98.50 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract for zinc traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.51%, to Rs 98.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 539 lots.

The November contract edged up by 45 paise, or 0.45%, to 100.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 481 lots.

Marketmen said besides pick up in the spot market demand, a firm global trend helped zinc futures to trade higher here.
