Honda in its yet another initiative towards road safety awareness, launched an extensive campaign Honda Helmet Awareness Drive. This campaign will span across many major cities including Chennai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Salem, Trichy, Peramballur, Kirshnagiri, Thiruvanamalai, Vellore, Coimbatore, Madurai, Theni, Tirupur, Sivakasi, Rameshwaram, Tuticorin, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai. Honda will mobilize its extensive dealer network in all the cities to spread awareness and cultivate safe riding habits among two-wheeler riders starting from 1st July, 2015.

In line with Tamil Nadu High Courts order for Compulsory Helmet Usage in the state, this campaign will be rolled out in a phased manner. Helmet awareness rallies and road safety promotion activities would be conducted at major locations.

On the occasion of campaign launch, Mr. Yadvinder .S. Guleria, Senior Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, It is indeed a great initiative by Tamil Nadu Government in the direction to promote safe two-wheeler riding. As a responsible corporate, we support this initiative to promote adoption of helmets and reduce significant number of fatalities occurred by road accidents. The objective is to bring necessary change in approach of two wheeler riders in every possible way- be it presenting a strong case about the benefits for helmet usage, constant reminders through messages at various locations, mass movement and engagement exercises at every step.

Supporting the campaign, customer safety promotions will be conducted at its extensive dealer network. Not only safety tips will be shared with visitors, Honda is also encouraging many more riders to use helmets by providing 50% price reduction on Branded Honda Helmets for a limited period of time. Distribution of reflective stickers for existing helmet users will be an interesting way of engagement.

Honda will also be reaching out to change agents - the kids to drive shift towards safe riding. Awareness activities in the schools will be conducted to nurture young minds as safety ambassadors.
