They have also teased us with images of the Suzuki Ignis and the Maruti Baleno RS which they will be showcasing at the event.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza will borrow its engines from the Swift. The 1.3-liter DDiS diesel is expected with a 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol could get a CVT in addition to a 5-speed manual unit. The Vitara Brezza is go head to head with the likes of Fords Ecosport, Renualts Duster and Nissans Terrano.
The Auto Expo 2016 will also see the Indian showcase of the Ignis, which had its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. Billed as a compact crossover, the Ignis is reported to launch in the festive season period of 2016, and will rival the Mahindra KUV100 chiefly.
Maruti has also announced the sporty Baleno RS for the Auto Expo. With various visual add-ons like a body kit, side skirts, larger alloy wheels and diffuser-like element, it will be interesting to see if the Baleno RS is introduced as a new top-end variant, much like the Ciaz RS.
