At least nine to ten people were injured in an explosion inside the Tata Steel factory here on Thursday.
According to inital reports, the explosion occurred in the LD gas holder of the factory. The impact of the explosion was such that a fire broke out in the adjoining gas pipeline.
Six fire tenders had to be used to put the flames out, the media quoted Inspector of Factories A K Mishra, as saying.
The injured have been admitted to the Tata Main Hospital. Three of them are said to be out of danger.one of the injured has been moved to the Critical Care Unit of the hospital, company sources said.
The explosion has damaged the roof of the gas holder badly. Mishra said the damaged pipeline has been isolated.
Tata Steel spokesman Prabhat Sharma said both the fire as well as the gas emission was under control and there were no reports of any casualty. The movement of employees inside the factory and near the explosion site has been restricted, he added.
