At least 10 people have been killed and 13 injured as a Greek F-16 fighter jet crashed into other planes parked on the ground during Nato training in southeastern Spain.
The defence ministry said that the crash took place at the Los Llanos base on Monday while the two-seat jet was taking off during a Nato training exercise called the Tactical Leadership Programme, reported News 24.
The crash sent "flames and a plume of black smoke billowing into the air," a defence ministry official said.
An official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that most of the victims were not believed to be Spaniards.
Emergency crews were working to douse the fire and determine the damage caused to other planes involved in the exercise.
