The United States has reportedly assured Pakistan that Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah would either be arrested or killed in Afghanistan, adding that if he is arrested, he would be handed over to Pakistan.
While briefing a Senate Defence Committee in Islamabad, defence officials said that the U.S. would also give Pakistan one billion dollars this year as part of the Coalition Support Fund (CSF) and used defence equipments to meet its security challenges, reported the Dawn.
The TTP chief, who was elected as the leader of the militant group in November 2013, was declared a "global terrorist" by the U.S. State Department on January 14. It was under his leadership that the group claimed responsibility for the December 16, 2014 massacre in Peshawar's Army Public School.
Defence officials also said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif had presented "vital evidence' of Indian involvement in subversive activities in Pakistan by using Afghan soil to top U.S. intelligence and defence officials.
