United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently entered into Guinness Book of World Records after school students managed to sing their national anthem with 119 nationalities together.
The record was claimed after GEMS students, parents and staff as they successfully sang Ishy Baladi (Long live my nation) which is the UAE national anthem, Gulf News reported.
The entire strength saw 100,000 students, that represented 140 nationalities from all GEMS schools and they sang the anthem at the same time via live stream, however those that were physically present at the GEMS Wellington Academy-Dubai Silicon Oasis campus were counted by the Guinness World Record officials.
Samer Khallouf, Project Manager, Middle East and North Africa, Guinness World Record, said that they had set a minimum requirement of 50 different nationalities and no one broke this record before and today they had successfully managed to have 119 nationalities sing the UAE anthem at once.
Students from countries like Bolivia, Bahamas, Congo, Fiji, Jamaica and Japan, to name a few, all managed to successfully sing the UAE anthem in Arabic and in unison.
