Veteran actress Saira Banu took to her husband Dilip Kumar's official Twitter handle to express her gratitude towards everyone who prayed for him in regard to an 18-year-old civil dispute case about a bounced cheque.

This series of tweets came after the verdict of the 94-year-old actor's acquittal was given by Girgaum Court in Mumbai on Tuesday. He was granted exemption from personal appearance in this case due to his ill-health.

"From Saira Banu: 1) I thank my God. My simple, straightforward husband has been cleared of any involvement in Geekay Exim Co. case.," said the 71-year actress' first tweet.

Further describing the whole case, Saira Banu tweeted,"2) ...wherein he was just a celeb-honorary Chairman, innocent of any implication of so tying up with his friends..."

"3) He faced this court matter for 18 long years, wherein now even his health is not so good. I thank all our well-wishers, friends, fans...," the tweet further read.

Dilip Sahab's wife ended her tweets thanking every one for their support, "4)...for the prayers. Thank you to our just and esteemed judiciary n brilliant advocates, Sageer Khan, Manish Zohra who've toiled endlessly."

Though a director of the Geekay Exim Co., Dilip Kumar was not directly involved in the day to day affairs of the company, the complainant was not able to present any proof against him and hence, the court gave the judgment of his acquittal.

Expressing concern over her husband's fragile health, Saira Banu, on Monday, asked his fans to pray that the stress related to an 18-year-old case should not affect him.
