A 19-year-old American has been arrested over charges of conspiring to provide material support to Islamic State (IS) militant group after carrying out alleged attacks in the name of IS.
According to News24, the Justice Department said that Justin Nolan Sullivan was arrested in Morganton, North Carolina at his home in possession of an unlicensed silencer.
Sullivan allegedly planned to purchase a semi-automatic AR-15 assault rifle at a gun show to kill US citizens on behalf of the IS.
According to the complaint, Sullivan had plans to carry out "minor assassinations before the big attack". He received the silencer in the mail from an undercover agent after discussing the plans.
