At least 20 militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) have been killed in an airstrike in Afghanistan's eastern Laghman province.
Two key IS leaders, identified as Mawlavi Turab and Musa Khan, were also among those killed in the airstrike which was carried out in the vicinity of Alingar district, reported Khaama Press, citing the Afghan Army, as saying in the statement.
The statement further stated that the local residents and other people did not suffer any casualties during the airstrikes.
No comments have been received from the anti-government armed militant groups, including the IS militants, by far.
Laghman, which is, relatively among Afghan's calm provinces has lately witnessed the attempts of the anti-government armed militants to expand their insurgency activities, the report said.
