Over 2,000 Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress workers joined Bharatiya Janata Party here on Saturday in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Workers from Baramba block and Narasinghpur block of Cuttack district came here to join the BJP at the headquarters of party's state unit.
Retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Ashok Kumar Tripathy was also among those who joined the party during the specially-held event.
Welcoming them to the party, Pradhan said, "the joining of Tripathy and each individual will definitely boost BJP in Odisha.
