Real Madrid has topped the Forbes chart of world's 50 most valuable sports team with a total worth of 3.3 billion dollars, up from 1.88 billion dollars last year as a result of increased revenue from deals with Adidas and Emirates Airlines.
According to Sport24, Manchester United is at the second spot worth of 3.17 billion dollars, while Spanish soccer champions Barcelona worth 2.6 billion dollars sit on the third position.
Major League Baseball's New York Yankees worth 2.3 billion dollars were rated fourth, followed by the NFL's Dallas Cowboys worth 2.1 billion dollars and New England Patriots worth1.6 billion dollars.
The report said that the NFL occupies 60 percent of this year's list with 30 teams in the top 50. The average value of the top 50 teams is 1.24 billion dollars, which is a 16 percent increase from last year.
