3 in 10 Americans feel White House has 'poor' ethical standards under Obama: Poll

Quite a few number of Americans believe President Barack Obama's administration has poor ethical standards, a new poll has found.

The percentage of Americans who believe this is higher than that measured during the presidencies of George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the Gallup Poll found.

According to the poll, 32 percent of those surveyed said top Obama officials have 'poor' ethics, as compared to 29 percent who said this for George W. Bush, 21 percent for Bill Clinton, seven percent for George H.W. Bush, and 15 percent for Ronald Reagan.

Ethical standards were rated on a four-step scale, 'excellent', 'good', 'not good' and 'poor,' Politico reports.

Gallup said that the 32 percent specifically calling administration officials' ethical standards poor is higher than Gallup found towards top officials in former President George W. Bush's administration between 2002 and 2005, as well as in Bill Clinton's administration in 1994.

According to the report, meanwhile, 49 percent of Americans consider the controversy over the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative groups a very serious problem, with 58 percent disapproving of how Obama has handled the issue.
