Sufi rock group Mekaal Hasan Band has announced its new lineup which includes a vocalist, a drummer and a bassist from India.
According to the band's Facebook page, founder of the band Mekaal Hasan will still play the guitar and Ahsan Papu will remain on the flute, the Express Tribune reported.
However, Mumbai-based vocalist Sharmistha Chatterjee, drummer Gino Banks and bassist Sheldon D'Silva have joined the group that will soon be releasing its new album.
The band, which has established a distinct identity in Pakistan and is trying to reach out to global audiences, was formed in 1999 in Lahore and fuses jazz, classical and rock music.
