At least 34 people were killed and 26 others were injured in a train crash in Lualaba province in Democratic Republic of Congo on the intervening night of November 12 and 13.

The death toll in the crash is likely to soar as some carriages carrying fuel caught fire, reported a local newspaper.

As per the report of a local radio network, the National Railway Company of Congo was carrying cargo from Lubumbashi to Luena when 11 of its 13 carriages caught fire.

The reason of the fire is not yet known.
