The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) said that 467 dengue and 459 malaria cases were reported across the national capital from January 1 to October 12 this year.
A little less than 120 cases of chikungunya were reported across Delhi during the 10-month period.
No deaths have been reported in cases of malaria, dengue and chikungunya so far from January 1 to October 12, the SDMC said.
On August 28, the Delhi government had announced a special campaign aimed at tackling vector-borne diseases in the national capital. The initiative kicked off on September 1 and will continue till November 15.
Under the campaign, titled '10 hafte, 10 baje 10 minute' (10 weeks-10 o'clock-10 minutes)', people should inspect their homes and surroundings for any possible sources of stagnant clean water, which can lead to the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes that spread vector-borne diseases.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to all ministers, MLAs and the public to participate in the campaign and spend 10 minutes every Sunday at 10 am for inspecting their own homes and surroundings to make sure there is no stagnant water present.
