Israeli Army on Sunday said that five rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza Strip early Sunday, reports The Times of Israel.

There were no reports of injuries or damage from the rocket fire, said military officials.

"Five rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza after sirens sounded in the Eshkol region adjacent to the southern Gaza Strip at about 12:40 a.m.," said Israel Defense Forces.

This attack ends the small period of stillness across both side of the border-Israel- after days of escalation.

Israel and Gaza are at loggerheads since the latter's rocket fell in Tel Aviv last week.

Retaliating immediately, Israeli Air Force struck Hamas target throughout Gaza. Despite Hamas repeated clarifications that the rocket fell accidentally, Isreal launched multiple strikes towards Gaza. Furthermore, Egypt also tried to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza. However, the talks failed and Israel continued to attack.

Israel President Benjamin Netanhayu, who just returned from his state visit to the United States, termed US' recognition on Golan Heights as Israel part as a "tremendous diplomatic achievement".

Claiming Golan Heights still faces threat, Netanhayu said, "Beyond the Golan Heights is Syria, and also Iran. Iran is constantly trying to bring precision long-range missiles, which are very advanced and very lethal, into Syria.
