Five people were killed on Saturday when a bus enroute to Srinagar from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand fell into a gorge on the National Highway 58 in Jayalgarh, approximately 10 kilometers away from Srinagar.
The bus was carrying a total of 33 passengers.
Eight other people who received injuries have been admitted to the nearby Base hospital of Srinagar.
The death toll is also expected to rise as the bus is still in water.
The rescue operations are currently going on.
