Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Anurag Thakur on Thursday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government in Delhi is accusing an honest person (Arun Jaitley) to protect a corrupt official (Rajendra Kumar).

"The bankruptcy of the Aam Aadmi Party can be seen through this that by putting baseless allegations, they want to play foul politics. They are trying to allege an honest person to protect a corrupt official," Thakur told the media here.

"When Kejriwal ji could not help the people after becoming the Chief Minister, he is trying to grab DDCA from back door. Earlier allegations during the Congress tenure also proved baseless. There is no strength in the false allegations. It is the habit of Kejriwal ji and his party to lie. I believe telling lie cannot mislead the nation," he added.

The AAP had earlier hit out hard at Finance Minister Jaitley over alleged corruption during his tenure as DDCA President.

Addressing the media, AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh collectively stated, "The main objective of CBI raid at Delhi Secretariat and taking control of ACB was to prevent alleged graft in DDCA during Arun Jaitley's tenure coming to light."

They added that the scam included siphoning off money by creating fake companies between 1999 and 2013.
