Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha candidate from Farrukhabad Mukul Tripathi on Monday returned the ticket alleging that there is corruption and mismanagement in the party.

"There is corruption and mismanagement in the party. Around 50 thousand people have become members of the party but there is no record of it. When I went there, I got to know that there are only 1700 members there," said Tripathi, who was supposed to take on External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"Secondly, when Arvind Kejriwal had visited Farrukhabad around 15-16 lakh rupees were collected. Out of this amount, only 6-7 lakhs rupees were spent. I want to ask where the rest of the amount is. I want an enquiry into this," he added.

He alleged that he got zero support from the party organization, and added that when one member of the SP threatened him nobody from the AAP supported him.

"I am very disappointed with the party. It is no longer 'Aam Aadmi Party' but has become 'Khaas Aadmi Party'. That is why I took this decision. When that party is not right from within then I cannot take it forward. I made 30-40 calls to Sanjay Singh. He never picked up the call," he said.

"Therefore, I felt that it's better to return the ticket and it is good for me," he added.
