The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday assured to fulfil its promise of getting complete statehood for Delhi adding that it was completely committed towards working on the issue.
"I would like to tell leaders of BJP and Congress that they may have some political compulsions because of which you back on promises made to people after elections. But AAP does not have any such compulsion, AAP considers itself a custodian of every promise made in our 70-point election manifesto. It is our responsibility to fulfill every promise we have made," AAP leader Dilip Pandey told mediapersons.
"We have promised to people that we would take out struggle for complete statehood of Delhi to its peak, we are committed to that," he added.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly written to Delhi's Urban Development Department to explore how a Greece-style referendum can be held in the national capital on the issue of full statehood.
